Welcome to Currahee Retrievers
About
Currahee Retrievers, owned by Steve Smith, has a remarkable backstory. In 1970, Steve served with the renowned 1st of the 506th, 101st Airborne Division, amidst the rugged I Corp region of South Vietnam. That spring, the 101st Division's "Currahee Battalion" faced some of the most intense combat of the war. Inspired by this brave unit, Currahee Retrievers derived its name.
For the past three decades, Steve has dedicated himself to training and hunting retrievers. His primary objective is to produce exceptional gun dogs that excel in the field or as companions. At Currahee, the finished dogs exhibit unwavering steadiness to the gun, reliable delivery to hand, and are well-versed in working from blinds or boats. The training places utmost importance on control, regardless of the circumstances encountered by the hunter and dog.
Currahee Retrievers is a service-connected disabled veteran-owned small business.
